SpaWire™
is eager to share your newsworthy announcements for the spa, salon, and wellness
community. We do so at no cost in most cases, provided our basic
guidelines are followed:
- Do not submit sales flyers cloaked as Press
Releases. Journalists, Media News Feeds, and
SpaWire™
are not always "free marketing partners" although that can often be a
happy result. Our primary goal is to relay
news information and information to a specific target audience: The
professional spa, salon, leisure and hospitality industries. SpaWire is
not a consumer-oriented ezine.
- A
press release informs the media of a newsworthy story or event which
would be of interest to the professional industry at large -- if not globally,
then at least to a very wide region.
- A
sales
flyer urges a potential buyer to consider making a purchase of your goods,
or, to select your spa or salon for services to be rendered. While
certain innovative new products or services may qualify as news, we find most
product-placement press releases are sales pitches. We do devote space
in SpaWire™
to this type of marketing -- in the proper context of paid advertisements or
sponsors.
- If your news is of a consumer-oriented
nature -- e.g., you have added a new massage modality to your menu, your hours
of operation have changed, you're having a contest, or you won the
"Boston's Best Massage" award, and you are a member of SpaIndex.Com,
please use the "contact page" at SpaIndex.Com to let our team know, and we
promote your news in our consumer ezine, instead.
- Do NOT email news to us, and do not email a press release to us in an
attachment, particularly MSWord documents. We receive hundreds
of press releases every day, and we only have space for a small number of
those releases. By sending us an email attachment
(particularly with no introduction in your email that tells us what the
subject matter of the press release is), you're expecting SpaWire to virus scan your attachment, download it,
open it and review it in a word processing platform, and then, if we find it
newsworthy, upload it to our own server, publish
the page, make the link available to our readers. If you believe your
news item is of general interest to the spa, salon, or wellness community, it
stands to reason you have made the investment of time, energy and expense to
publish the press release on your own website or via a press release
distribution service.

SpaWire™
has a limited amount of space in each issue, and in each issue we attempt to
share a wide variety of domestic and international news, and news of interest
to both the salon and day spa community and the hospitality industry. As
such, we select news items based on the level of general interest to our
readers. In the event we pass on an opportunity to share a press release
or story which we feel is not of sufficient general interest to our readers
and spa members (our listed spas from SpaIndex.Com), you may wish
consider sponsoring an issue of

promote your goods, products or services.
